The itinerary begins at Porta Marina, the ancient fortified entrance to the village, characterized by its pointed arch and Ghibelline battlements. Once equipped with a drawbridge and defensive towers, it is the ideal starting point to wander through the streets of the historic center and be enveloped in Campofilone’s medieval charm.
Not far away stands the Municipal Theater, built in the 1920s through popular support. With its frescoes, wrought-iron chandeliers, and the history of a community determined to create a place for culture, it remains a vibrant symbol of local identity.
Along the walls are the openings of the ancient gates, Porta da Sole and da Bora, which bear witness to the village’s defensive function and its strategic role as a link between the coast and the hinterland. A short walk leads to the Orto Abbaziale, a peaceful garden overlooking Valdaso and the Sibillini Mountains framed by medieval walls and polygonal towers — the perfect spot to stop and let your thoughts wander.
The itinerary ends by descending to the coast, where the Campofilone Beach combines nature and relaxation: an unspoiled shoreline, with stretches of sandy shore and bike path — the ideal place to unwind after visiting the village.
