Probably built between 1934 and 1935, the Former Washhouse of Monte Camauro stands in front of the Church of the Madonna del Carmine, replacing the older Felici washhouse. Its construction met the community’s need at the time for a covered and easily accessible washhouse. Once a place of daily activity and social gathering for the women of the village, it remains a valuable testimony to Campofilone’s communal life in the early 20th century.
Today, after careful restoration, the building can once again be visited by following the scenic Porta da Sole road.
