The Rio Canale Dam, built between 1985 and 1994 on the stream of the same name in the Campofilone area, gave rise to the striking artificial lake of Montecantiano, which stretches between the towns of Campofilone, Montefiore dell’Aso and Massignano. In addition to its function as a water reservoir to support local agriculture, the reservoir today represents a fascinating meeting place between human ingenuity and unspoiled nature. Nestled among rolling hills, the lake offers beautiful loop trails of about 5 km, ideal for trekking, walking and relaxing moments in the open air, among vineyards, rural farmhouses and views that reflect the quiet and beauty of the Marche region.
